Soon after fire trucks, at least four got through. Not wanting to stand around, me and my roommates (luckily two of our cars weren't in the garage at the time...the other was, but it turned out okay) went to his girlfriend's place and there we just chilled out til my neighbors told us it was okay to get in.
Honestly, that experience was surreal. I heard the noises in my sleep, but I was dreamt I was in some kind of war, those were the kind of explosions I was hearing before Yuri came to shake me awake. Awake then, I stood just in the center of my room wondering whats important. I'm banging my head now just because I only could take my laptop, figuring that all those precious memories I have in pictures were scattered in the room and I had no way to grab them all in time. HEARTS, if you read this the photo album is safe, but damn straight I was worried about it.
It made me think about everything else though, that all those clothes, all those items, all those things that make a person materialistic...I wasn't going to really miss any of it. Sure it'll suck, but whats life with nothing compared to no life at all? Maybe a bit dramatic but hell...I was studying for finals and got little sleep last night. Things are replaceable. Memories aren't.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but its all pointing to arson. Just take a look at where the fire started from -
The apartment next to ours underneath looks the worse, charred like coal, looks almost like it reached their living room.
But you know, that's what's crazy about this place. I got my car stolen underneath in this garage about a year and a half ago, and now it catches on fire during finals week. True University students til the end, I remember hearing 3 topics: fire, finals, and graduation. Even in the face of danger, you can always count on us to be thinking about scholastic studies. Right now I am very thankful that no one was hurt, nothing was damaged...and that I have no finals this day.
wtf are you serious man?
ReplyDeleteshit i'm glad you and the roomates are ok
