East Coasting

Oh man, what a vacation! We arrive in Rhode Island around 12 P.M. after a 12 hour flight from Ontario airport. Greeted by all the family that we haven't seen for YEARS, nothing felt better than being reunited. We crashed in the basement, which in my opinion, is something that Cali needs to jump on, if it weren't for our damn earthquakes. The weather there was very chill. It was never blazing hot, or freezing cold. I'd say that the worst was when it would rain and you would have to walk out into that super humid air. After the first few days of our various relatives bringing us out, there was our cousin David's wedding. This wedding was American style with a Khmer band to get our asses shakin. Lots of alcohol there which also meant a drunk Sambo that was completely sound asleep ;]. Cousin Vsna also brought us out for some fishing but we were only able to catch 3 "scup" which we later cooked and ate. Nothing better than some fresh fish, clams, and steak. 2 days after the wedding was the start on our NY/Canada trip. NYC was speechless. Grip of people left and right, cars and traffic is nearly as crazy as cambodia traffic. Tip: Ride the subway, don't get jipped into paying for parking. Rates were CRAZY. They went as high as $9 for HALF an hour. Next, we left for Canada only to find it raining outside. I've never experienced rain this bad EVER. Hwy roads could barely be seen, and people were pulling over/having their hazards on left and right. Then we arrive at Canada after a SUPER long ride full of scoops from Lo. In Canada we took the Niagara Falls tours which included "Maid of the Mist" which is a ride in a boat next to the actual falls. Next was this wack one where we walked 1/4 mile to see the rapids caused by the falls. Next was a short theatric type of show, kinda like "Star Tours" at Disneyland, but your standing surrounded by water and experiencing things with the falls. Lastly was the "Behind the Falls" which you go 125ft down, and are able to stand right behind the falls or right beside it. We were given panchos for all of these attractions. I kinda felt like i was in a water park haha. Drove back home to RI and feasted on lobster, crab, and yow-hon east coast style the next night. After, cousin David brought us out to one of his friend's house to play some rockband. Dangg, i FAIL at drums haha. get home around 2am, played cards till it was 4ish then left for the airport for our flight back home. I'm already missing everyone down in the east coast: Sambo, Lo, Ryna, Tyler, Ana, Tiana, Vsna, Wifey, David, Sokki, Rosie, Lanna, Grandma, Cindy, Om Lieng, and everyone else that made our trip memorable. Can't wait to see you guys again next year!
