5 Days. 1800+ miles.

So for me, this was a hell of a crazy 4 day weekend. My friend John and I made plans to visit our friend Brian in Sacramento this weekend, and it was one hell of a trip.

Day 0: Wednesday night I drove to Escondido to get a haircut from my Uncle and eat dinner with him. Then got to my parents' house around 10ish. Traded cars with my dad since I don't think my truck would make it up there, and then I got some sleep...though that was interrupted around 2-3am because my friend asked me about Taylor Swift. -_-.

Day 1: The Drive. Woke up at 7am to pick up John, and headed to Long Beach to go to my Uncle's garage shop so he can check up the car to make sure it could make the trip. Ate some pho over there at Pho So 1. Review: mediocre, Garden Grove/Westminster Pho beats it easily, I'd rather go to Pho Lu. After that we headed up. I was driving the whole way and we were making good time, was probably going to make it to our capitol city around 4...but that was too early for Brian so we made a detour to San Leandro to visit Liz. I must say, it was freak'n hot up there. Chilled out at Liz's house, her mom made 'bun chow' or "asian pancake" as some people call it. Deliciousness. Her house was right by the Bay, so we walked her dog along it...tried to find some frogs but no luck. After that me and John went up to Sacramento...it was freezing there at night. Got some rest for the next couple days.

Day 2-3. Alot of stuff here, but I'm going to keep this one short. Basically it involves shopping, eating, site-seeing, random driving around. You know the typical tourist stuff. I'll let the pictures talk for themselves. Oh also visited my aunt...she can make some damn good shrimp. Note: I drove basically the whole time, and we visited San Jose, Milpitas, San Francisco, Oakland, and of course Sacramento. Also note: Oakland is "hella ghetto." Just saying.

Day 4: The Drive (Part 2) So this is where I got some more major mileage. Drove back from Sacramento with only one stop. Got back to my parent's around 7ish. Traded back cars with my dad and left around 8:30. I just got back to SD. Ran up to the bathroom because I REALLY NEEDED to go, then checked my voicemail. Turns out my dad left his wallet in my truck, and he needs it for work tomorrow. So I grab some coffee, drive back up to OC at around 10:30. Dropped off the wallet around 11:30, then drove back to SD right after. Probably drove around a good 8 hours that day, racking up the mileage on both my dad's 4runner and my truck about 1800+ miles. Now that was tiring.

The rundown of cities I drove to:
SD -> Escondido -> OC -> Long Beach -> San Leandro -> Sacramento -> Milpitas -> San Jose -> Sacramento -> Davis-> San Francisco -> Oakland -> Davis -> Sacramento -> OC -> SD -> OC -> SD.

Now onto a few pictures:

This was my first meal in Sacramento. Place was called Bud's Buffet. Wasn't really a buffet...but sandwich, drink, side. 8 dollars. That thing was filling and so very meaty. Ever up there and want to get full, that is the place to go.

Here we have our Capitol Building. Where our 'Governator' works. I really liked the architecture. Wish it was empty so I could of taken a frontal picture of it, but there were too many protesters in the way.

Right here we have protesters aka Obama-haters aka ignorant fearful *cough*cough*. Excuse me, I have to watch my language there. Saw the Obama-Joker signs. I really had to keep my mouth shut or else I would have been mauled.

We visited twin peaks in San Francisco. Very Nice. Like top of the world and Mount Soledad, but for San Francisco. It was alot colder and windier up here than those other places though. But the view was 'hella' nice. Definitely a place to visit. Didn't get a chance to go down the windy roads or see the glass elevator. Next time though.

Anyone recognize this place? Yup, it was at the ending of "Up." Didn't get a chance to sit on the corner and count red cars though.

The Banana Split Special. The thing was a monster. Brian ate most (more like almost all of it) by himself.

The ice cream we all got. It was a good way to end the night. Lines go out the door just for the ice cream...the food was just alright. If you're tired of Ghirardelli's square, this is a great alternative.

All in all, the trip was great. But all the driving has made me realize...California is getting a little too small for me. I have been to norcal 4 or so times now, and probably going to fly up there at one point to hang out with my Berkeley friend. I'm serious about visiting Texas soon, so Texas-cuzzos, you better watch out!
